Over the weekend, Ugandan music icon Bebe Cool served up more than just hits he delivered heart, honesty, and a whole lot of clarity about the love of his life, Zuena Kirema.
During the final day of the 2025 Bride & Groom Expo, Bebe Cool stepped on stage not as a performer, but as a man who’s been in love and in the spotlight for decades. The Gagamel boss opened up about his marriage, the price of loving a beautiful woman, and a rumor that just refuses to die.
“I’ve been abused and hated because of my wife, Zuena,” he told the crowd. “There were so many people who wanted to date her. They even paid bloggers to insult me just because I took this beautiful girl. But me? If I love, I love.”
The singer admitted the pressure from persistent admirers once pushed him to ask Zuena to stay home for peace of mind and family stability.
Then came the moment that had everyone leaning in, a fan boldly asked about the long-standing rumor that Zuena once dated the late Mowzey Radio.
Bebe Cool didn’t flinch.
“No, that’s not true. Lies. She was never in the class of the deceased,” he said firmly, brushing off the claims with confidence.
His words echoed what Zuena herself shared in 2023. According to her, the rumor started as musical revenge during a feud between Mowzey and Bebe.
“I’ve never dated Mowzey,” Zuena once explained. “They sang about me to annoy Bebe Cool after a fight. But I didn’t even know who Mowzey was until Bebe pointed him out one night.”
In fact, she joked about it:
“He said, ‘That little man with Chameleone? That’s the one.’ I laughed. I didn’t know him. But he made me famous, so… let him sing!”
Amid the drama and denials, Bebe Cool also brought smiles with a sweet throwback to their first date.
“That’s when I knew she was the one,” he said with a grin. “Because she ate her food… and mine too! If a girl isn’t shy to eat on a first date, that’s wife material right there.”
