Uganda’s most iconic band, Afrigo, is turning 50, and they’re throwing a party that will go down in music history.
Set for August 16, 2025, at the Millennium Grounds, the Afrigo at 50 Golden Anniversary Concert will be the third edition of the Legends of Sound series and this time, it’s all about celebrating five decades of timeless sound, cultural pride, and musical legacy.
With roots that stretch back to the 1970s, Afrigo Band has remained the heartbeat of Ugandan music, evolving with the times but never losing their soul. This concert promises a festival-style showcase, fusing nostalgic classics with high-energy performances.
Fans can expect to see Afrigo greats like Moses Matovu, Rachel Magoola, and other band legends in full swing reimagining the sounds that have shaped generations.
But that’s not all.
To turn the heat all the way up, the night will feature legendary Congolese superstar Koffi Olomidé, whose electrifying Ndombolo energy will add a powerful continental punch to an already unforgettable lineup.
“Afrigo isn’t just a band they’re a national treasure,” said one of the concert organizers. “And with Koffi in the mix, this night becomes African music royalty on one stage.”
