Picture this, the Nile flowing gently in the background, laughter echoing under a lush canopy of trees, the scent of gourmet bites in the air, and gin cocktails glistening in the sun. That was the vibe this past weekend at Tanqueray by the Nile Brunch a first-of-its-kind destination brunch experience that brought a refreshing dose of luxury to Kayunga District.

Hosted at the breathtaking Adrift River Club, right by the scenic Kalagala Falls, this wasn’t just your typical brunch it was an entire getaway. Think laid-back glam, curated cocktails, and killer river views, all wrapped up in green-and-white garden party elegance.
From the jump, the event was giving “main character energy.” Gates opened at midday, and guests arrived dressed to impress linen shirts, floaty dresses, statement sunnies all blending effortlessly into the brunch’s nature-meets-style theme.
With the Nile flowing beside the venue and birds providing the soundtrack from the nearby forest, it was hard not to feel like you were starring in a lifestyle travel ad. The brunch didn’t just bring food it brought a mood.

The food? Divine. The drinks? Even better. But the highlight for many was the DIY Tanqueray cocktail station, where guests got hands-on, shaking and stirring their own custom drinks like pros definitely a buzz-worthy moment for the ’Gram and the taste buds.
“This is what we mean when we say brunch with a twist,” one reveller shouted, holding up a perfectly garnished cocktail for a selfie.
On the entertainment front, DJ Skatta kept the energy high with sun-drenched Afro beats and feel-good anthems. Sakata Band gave us live music magic, serving nostalgic classics and fresh covers. And then came Jose Sax, who took things to another level his soulful sax melodies floating across the river breeze had guests swaying, sipping, and fully soaking in the vibe.
According to Nancy Nansikombi, Brand Manager for Tanqueray at Uganda Breweries Ltd, this was all intentional.

“We didn’t just want to host another brunch. We wanted to create a destination moment something elegant, personal, and unforgettable. Jinja and the Nile gave us the perfect setting to bring this vision to life,” she shared.
“Tanqueray is all about elevating everyday moments. This brunch wasn’t just about a good meal it was about checking in, escaping the usual, and making memories with people you love.”
